Steady Open the prompter

A teleprompter in the browser

Your script, large enough to read.

Open it and the words are waiting. Paste a script, set a speed, and read it out loud — or record yourself. You can try a real take before anyone asks for money or an email.

Start with your script

How a take goes

  1. Paste the words. Type them, paste them, or drop in a text file. They stay in this browser.
  2. Make it comfortable. Pick a speed you can actually say. Make the type big. Slide the column toward the camera so your eyes stay near the lens. If you read through a mirror, flip the text. That comes with the page.
  3. Read, or record. A short countdown, then the words start to move. The video starts at that same moment. When you stop, download it: the camera and your voice. The script stays off the picture.

If you stumble

Pause, and you are still on that line. Tap a word to jump to it, or scroll back and keep going. Notes in brackets sit quieter than the line you are speaking, so you don’t read the stage direction out loud.

The script stays here

Your words are saved on this device. Paste them and read — there’s no account in the way, and the script never leaves this browser. The camera and microphone come on when you press Record. Download the video before you close the tab. It lives here until you do.

Three takes, then a price

The first three takes are free. A take is the part after the countdown, while the words are moving. After that it’s $2 a week, or $30 for the year. We ask for an email only when you pay, so you can open the same plan in another browser.
